Fly the FlyingLab
APEX Expo visitors can immerse
themselves in challenging ideas and new
music before even setting foot in LA. On
September 7, fl ight LH452 from Munich
to LA – a special A380 fl ight named the
Lufthansa FlyingLab – will see industry
leaders explore the latest trends driving
change in the passenger experience.
Innovators from Lufthansa will join
industry and internet partners to share
their ideas during the infl ight conference.
Lufthansa, Lufthansa Systems, Lufthansa
Technik and zeroG will be present
alongside other industry partners, while
digital service and content providers will
demonstrate advances in digital tools.
Passengers will also get a rare
opportunity to sharpen their creativity
at 38,000ft, for example by taking part
in an onboard Design Sprint co-creation
session with Lufthansa Group‘s head
of passenger experience design, and
to work collaboratively with other
passengers and industry experts to
create products and services that
enhance the future passenger
experience. Guests can also
take home new creative tools and
methods that they can use with their
own teams back home.
The FlyingLab will also feature
a unique live music performance
on board, with musicians turning
the sounds of air travel into a
musical journey. Rhythmic
tones will blend with
prerecorded aircraft
sounds, transforming the
cabin into a concert hall.
TECHNOLOGIES FOR
PERSONALISATION
Experience the latest innovative power
and integrated peripheral solutions at
IFPL’s stand. The company will be
showcasing AdPower, created as a
smart way to monetise USB power –
significant since powering passengers’
personal electronic devices (PEDs) is now an
important requirement in supporting the passenger
experience.
Visitors to APEX Expo can try out IFPL’s USB-A
and USB-C units that provide data and power for
passengers’ PEDs. These units seamlessly integrate
within the seat.
Visitors can also try out a seat concept that cleverly
integrates IFE and innovative seat design.
Panasonic will be showing how
its key solutions – Insights, Arc
and Wellness – are supporting
its vision of a personalised
passenger experience.
The Insights data analytics
platform analyses data from
multiple touchpoints including
entertainment, connectivity,
social media and location to
provide airlines with actionable
intelligence, enabling them to
create a two-way loop between
them and their passengers.
Arc, claimed to be the first
personalised 3D moving map
platform, has been designed to
enrich the travel experience
through bespoke storytelling
of their journey. Airlines can
integrate Arc with the other
Panasonic solutions as a
geographic, interactive gateway.
Wellness, announced at APEX
2018, helps airlines transform
the seat into a ‘cared for’
environment and helps address
passengers’ desire to arrive
rested and refreshed.
Panasonic’s platform engages
health advocates with innovative
technologies, such as ‘Calm’ and
‘myNoise’, and allows airlines
to enhance the passenger
experience with new tools to
promote well-being.
