The Adheskin self-adhesive decorative foil provides a quick
and easy way for airlines to enhance their inflight branding
and to increase passenger engagement and loyalty

very airline has the same
challenge: to win their
passengers’ hearts and
increase their loyalty in order to sustain
or grow turnover. The answer is to create
an unparallelled customer experience.
According to the latest consumer studies,
seat comfort is often cited as the main
passenger concern, together with IFE and
general well-being. While engineers are
working on factors such as connectivity,
seat ergonomics and carving out extra
legroom, designers are developing
branded cabins with soothing
colours, pleasing light
effects and working on
the concept of
perception of space.
A highly
personalised cabin
has much to offer.
Cabin decor in
economy class is
generally pretty
standard. This approach
seems logical for the high
production rates of the single-aisle
aircraft sector, but more and more
airlines have an increasing desire
for differentiation, including on shorthaul
flights.
Decor is a playground, and one which
can increase brand recognition. Airlines
are starting to add branding inside the
cabin to mirror that found on the aircraft
livery. This approach is understandable –
after all, is there anything more simple
and efficient than adding a logo to
standard laminates to make this space
unique? Aigle Azur, France’s secondlargest
airline, did this across its fleet
using Adheskin material under a fully
EASA-approved modification process.
Others airlines have bolder ambitions.
For example, La Compagnie, a French allbusiness
class boutique airline that flies

CREATING ‘WOW’ EFFECTS
Such a scheme would generate travel
lust for passengers and keep the inflight
experience fresh, without requiring
a large budget or aircraft downtime.
Adhetec has an affordable answer
to this challenge with a range of
certifiable products, without design or
shape limitations, and which are perfect
for 2D surfaces. Far from a standard
wallpaper, Adhetec’s Adheskin selfadhesive
decorative foil is proposed
in tailor-made formats for business
cabins or as die-cut elements for
the embellishment of standard cabin
monuments – and it can be added
as a line-fit feature or in service.
between Paris and New
York, has applied dust panel
stickers designed by
international artist, Kevin Lyons
on all its cabin windows. The result:
the airline’s Instagram account almost
collapsed with the number of happy
posts from passengers and their ‘selfies’
with these small funny characters.
For such a complex project, the airline
needed a strong partner that can bring
a turnkey certifiable solution, which is
easy to install without disrupting their
operations or adding any workload in the
chain. This collaborative work between
La Compagnie and Adhetec was so
successful that the airline has decided to
continue with other similar campaigns
that will become a trademark for the
airline brand.
The next step is a fully individual decor
scheme with real ‘wow’ effects on the
cabin monuments, with some highly
fashionable elements that could be
changed as quickly as passenger tastes.
