THINK INSIDE THE BOX
Private jet interiors continue to evolve, but King Aerospace says that what customers
need most has not changed: a partner who will listen, collaborate and follow through
“Most providers of custom aircraft
interiors can access the same parts,”
says Jarid King, president of King
Aerospace. “The magic happens when the
customer and service provider meet with
open minds, define the end goal, then
transparently explore options to get there
within the allotted time and budget.”
King Aerospace recently stepped in on
what the customer ended up calling the
‘hero project’, a head-of-state aircraft
refurbishment that was behind schedule.
“With the customer, we identified
missing materials, equipment and
harnesses,” says King. “We quickly
located the items needed and
manufactured or ordered them.”
The company tracked parts all the way
to its doorstep to ensure they arrived in
the required timeframe. In some cases,
activity-specific spaces; noise control
technology; zero-gravity seating; air and
water filtration systems; systems that
enable video chats and streaming IFE;
and even analytics technology.
PLATE EXPECTATIONS
Signature Plating has been developing
new technologies and processes to
support the aesthetics required of
finishes by design firms, airlines and
aircraft owners. “Not all metal finishes
are alike and Signature Plating is making
its mark within these markets to deliver
the finishes needed to meet designers’
intended visions,” says Zane Leake, vice
president of sales at the company.
In particular, Signature Plating has
developed new anodized performance
finishes to provide greater aesthetic
choice for airlines. “Our custom anodized
finishes are being sought after for aircraft
interiors,” says Leake. “These finishes are
highly durable and will stand up to the
harsh environment of an aircraft interior.”

To keep up with growing demand, Signature Plating
has expanded its production of anodized plated parts by 100%
enabling designers, airlines and MRO
firms to introduce the exact colour/finish
required to realise the design vision. “This
is extremely important with designs that
require specific, complementary metal
finishes,” adds Leake.
This new capability is offered in
addition to the company’s existing
expertise in supporting custom
decorative finishes for metal and plastics.
“We have listened to our customers and
are delivering decorative finishes to meet
their requirements,” says Leake.
team members were dispatched to pick
them up. Interior and avionics teams
worked in unison with mechanics to a
meticulously scripted plan. “Things
turned around fast, and the customer
thought we had worked a miracle,” says
King. “We knew the truth: a dedicated,
professional team had partnered with
them and worked efficiently with
everyone pulling in the same direction.”
King contends that refurbishment
delivers ecological, ergonomic and
economic advantages to buying new.
Working directly with the provider
enables a high degree of customisation.
For example, King Aerospace can create
smart cabins enabling passengers to
manage everything from lighting to
lavatories using voice commands. A
refurbishment can also involve adding
In addition to a standard range of
anodized finishes, custom colours are
available. “The anodized look can be now
used as a primary finish, supporting
specific colour schemes,” says Leake.
He emphasises that an unlimited
palette is available with these finishes,
