Inmarsat
Nick is a member of the leadership team within Inmarsat’s global
government business unit. This provides satellite communications
services to support over 80 governments around the world, including
all 5-Eyes and NATO nations. He is responsible for the delivery of
government strategic programmes around the world. These include
satellite comms services for public safety applications.
In July 2020, Nick was appointed Chair of UKspace. He engages
across government, industry, academia, and with other international
space agencies to promote the UK space sector.
Nick holds a Master’s in satellite communications from the University of
London, and a Master’s from the Open University.

Josie has been in the software test industry
for more than ten years. She joined Motorola
Solutions in 2004 as a software test engineer working
on TETRA products, and later joined Canopy SIT team as a technical
lead.
She is currently a Test Manager, managing a group of test engineers
working with the ASTRO products portfolio. From 2016 to 2019, she
was a test analyst with the TETRA software team, where, amongst other
things, she was responsible for analysing defect arrival and root cause
analysis.

Nicklas has 15 years of experience in mission-critical
communications. Since joining Ericsson in 2015, he has led efforts to
enable the transition from narrowband to next-generation broadband
networks. He has worked closely with governments and operators across
Europe.
He possesses expertise in national TETRA emergency services
communications systems, as well as a comprehensive understanding of
the opportunities, challenges and choices facing users as they migrate.
Nicklas has co-authored several white papers, the most recent
discussing the topic of critical communications in the context of symbiotic
networks.

Ari is responsible for mission critical services in the
Finnish public safety mobile broadband project Virve
2.0. He has worked on mission critical communications since 2000, rst
at Nokia Telecommunications in Finland, and from 2004 at the UK Home
Of ce. Ari has held several roles providing strategic and technical guidance
on various aspects of mission critical communications. These include
security, functionality, the ‘technology roadmap’, user requirements and
spectrum needs. He has also had an active role in several national and
international working groups, having served as both director and member
of the TCCA board, and as the chair of the TETRA user requirements
working group at ETSI. During his time in the UK, he worked closely with
several UK government departments and the spectrum regulator Ofcom.

Sanne is responsible for the development and future implementation of
Switzerland’s nationwide mission critical mobile broadband network for
public safety. Sanne comes from the telecom industry, having worked for
more than two decades at Ericsson. He held various roles there, including
Senior Consultant, Line Manager, Delivery Manager and more.
In his last position he was responsible for LTE and 5G mobile networks
for public safety, rail, and other industries. During this time, he engaged
with authorities, ministries, enterprises and mobile operators/partners,
operating mainly in the UK, Dutch, German and Swiss markets.

José is the Deputy Director General of
Communications and Information Systems for Security at
the Spanish Ministry of Interior. He is a Captain in the Spanish Guardia
Civil. In 2014, he was Private Security Director at the Ministry of Interior.
He has a degree in telecommunication engineering from the University
of Valladolid. He also has a Master’s in police science from the University
of Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, and a Master’s in road traf c safety from
Carlos III University.
