Speed-time profile
A driving cycle is a speed-time
profile with the aim of creating
comparability between vehicles.

evaluate vehicles in a developmentoriented
way, which is important for
component selection and
performance dimensioning. In
Europe, the New European Driving
Cycle (NEDC) was used as the
measurement cycle until September
2017. Since September 2017, the
newly developed cycle Worldwide
Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles
Test Procedure (WLTP) has replaced
the NEDC and has since been valid
as a uniform standard for all vehicles
