 Intelligent controllers
 ICCS controllers from
 Würth Elektronik ICS are
 intelligent and efficient
 solutions for controlling standard
 and comfort functions in vehicles.
They can be used as stand-alone
modules or as an extension to the
existing CAN network. With the new
ICCS 64P V2 CAN Controller, Würth
 upgrades its portfolio of controllers
that can be connected directly to
the PCB. This enables the control of
the central electrical unit, eg relay
 switching, sensor acquisition or
 monitoring fuse status via CANbus.
 The new controller is equipped
with a 16-bit processor, more than
30 inputs of different types, two CAN
 interfaces and an optional LIN
 master interface. This allows the
 transmission of sensor values to
 the CANbus or data exchange
 between independent bus
 systems. The controller also
 64 iVTInternational.com November 2019
 enables gateway/filter functions and
the conversion of data from LIN
 battery management systems or LIN
rain/light sensors to the CAN bus. In
 addition, the controller can directly
drive loads up to 2A per output.
As an alternative to the ICCS 64P
 V2 CAN Controller, Würth also
 presents the ICCS 121P CAN
controller. The module is based on
the ICCS 64P V2 CAN controller and
 features 16 additional low side
outputs. It is built in a metal
 housing which meets requirements
 of IP class 65.

 A locally crafted joystick
 Caldaro’s C15 is an exceptionally
 robust joystick with excellent
tolerances. It is used in the
toughest working conditions in mining and
forestry, as well as in fine-tuned medical
 equipment. The shaft is
 manufactured in one
 single piece with
 proportioned
 dimensions, making
 it practically
 impossible to bend
 with man-craft. The
 circuit board and
 electronics are potted
 with a compound
 which protects them
 from salt, fog, water,
 lubricants and virtually
 all chemicals.
 The C15 is used in
 a variety of areas
 throughout the world,
 but the joystick itself
 come from a
 small city in
 southern
 Sweden.
 The method
 of sourcing
 local parts saves
 time, money and
 the environment
 – and results in a
 better joystick.
 Pär Hellgren, one
 of Caldaro’s design
 engineers,
believes strongly in the benefits of
being close to everything that affects the
manufacturing of the C15-joystick. From the
start he and his colleagues looked for suppliers
of subcomponents close to the Caldaro
production site. Since then the team has
created a cluster of suppliers who are all
 within three hours reach.
This joystick can be manufactured with high
precision in a small series according to the
 customer’s specific wishes. Calrado currently
manufactures the C15 with seven different
grips – plus one with a grip in oak (pictured
above). The oak is cut down in a forest
not far from Caldaro’s headquarters in
 Kalmar, Sweden.

 Perfect climate solution
The Power K from Eberspächer Kalori is the
ideal solution enabling the installation of
 air-conditioning systems in any vehicle,
irrespective of the drive type and special requirements
of the application. The solution includes an electric
compressor, a ventilated condenser and a filter drier.
To create a complete and efficient air-conditioning
system, it is sufficient to connect this external power
 unit to an evaporator.
The Power K condenser unit is suitable for battery
electric vehicles or for vehicles with an internal
combustion engine where it is difficult to install
a compressor, for example due to lack of space in the
engine compartment or when it is difficult, even
 impossible, to use a belt-driven
 compressor powered by the machine’s
 internal combustion engine. It is
available from 12 to 650 VDC and its
capacity varies up to 3.5kW. The unit
is also available in 110 and 220V AC.
 Versions for vertical or horizontal
 installations are provided.
 Eberspächer Kalori offers a broad
range of HVAC systems which can be
connected with the Power K to get
a complete air-conditioning solution. Each HVAC
system can be equipped with a PTC element to be used
as a combined version for electrical heating and
cooling. The Power K is the ideal solution for electric
trolleys, remote cabs, tunnel boring machines and
 mining machinery.
