 Vodafone
 undercuts the
 5G market
 VODAFONE HAS SWITCHED on
its 5G network in seven cities
 across the UK and announced
 plans to offer Vodafone
Business Unlimited – a series of
 new plans that give business
 customers access to ‘Unlimited
data’ and 5G at the same price
 as 4G. Vodafone also becomes
the fi rst UK provider to offer
 5G roaming in four European
 countries over the summer. To
 enable business customers
to take full advantage of 5G,
 Vodafone Business Unlimited
 plans include 5G and unlimited
 data with prices starting at
 £19.16 per month excl. VAT.
 Adam Simon, CEO of CONTEXT,
commented on the pricing “I think
its great, we all want 5G to take
off and its good to see one of the
 POLY
 Exertis enterprise, mobile and retail
markets, has announced that it has
secured UK distribution for the full range
of products from Poly, including audio
 and video conferencing, headsets, SIP
 endpoints and cloud services.
 £183M FINE
British Airways is facing a fi ne of £183m
under the GDPR rules after it suffered
a breach back in 2018. This would be
the largest fi ne the ICO has handed out
to date. The incident in question left
the details of 500,000 customers in
cyber criminals hands after users were
 diverted to a fraudulent website.
key players invest in this way
and create a bit of dynamism in
this market. The month of June
 has been extraordinary for 5G,
in South Korea they got over one
million users of it, we are a long
way behind that, so it is great to
see how we can generate some
 demand.”
 Adrian Sunderland, CTO
 of Jola commented “I think
 the people that should be
 concerned about this are the
fi xed line operators. This is
 Vodafone, and Three have made
similar comments, that 5G is a
 viable alternative to broadband
and with this pricing it is cost
 competitive. They aren’t worried
 about ARPU reduction in the
 existing base, this is about
 connecting the next x-million of
 subscribers and bringing them
 away from fi xed-line.”
