Ready for the outdoors
Producing no emissions, working
inside a building would seem a
natural fit for it but Burnhope is
confident the new vehicle is
appropriate for outdoors – no
matter what the conditions are.
He says, “It might be electric but it
is truly a go-anywhere forklift truck.
“We’ve long believed that what was
missing from the market was an
electric machine equally capable of
Advanced Lift-58 truck Technology International 2019
working indoors and outdoors. Well
this machine can.
“It has a fully-sealed, weatherproof
body to protect all the key
components from the elements, so we
can offer the industry a hard-working,
all-weather, electric telescopic forklift
truck, truly capable of taking on the
toughest jobs indoors and outdoors.”
Set in the rear of the truck, the
battery compartment as well as
being fully-sealed is nonetheless
also easily accessible.
Enclosed inside is the heart of the
vehicle, an 80V GNB/Exide Marathon
Classic heavy duty, lead-acid battery
which, offering 625ah, is expected to
provide enough power to last a full
eight hour shift from a single charge.
There is also sufficient electric
power to enable the vehicle to climb
a 21% gradient ramp.
Fork pickets and a single lift point
come as standard making the task of
taking one battery out and replacing
it with another one that can be
completed in minutes using a forklift
or crane. In fact, such is the simplicity
of the procedure it gives the endcustomer
the option of having
a standby unit charged up, ready to be
installed to further maximize machine
working time.
Holding its own
There is far more to the 30-19E than
its power source. With a 3,000kg
maximum lift capacity, capable of
reaching a maximum height of 4.1m,
the vehicle can more than hold its
own in the lifttruck market.
Paul Murray, general manager at
JCB says, “In addition to the telescopic
boom, this Teletruk’s performance
capacity is thanks to its one-piece,
welded chassis. Both of which have
been perfected over the past 22 years.”
Like all the diesel and LPG models
in the range, the electric version can
load weighted pallets to the far side
of a curtain-sided trailer using its
side-mounted boom and telescopic
forward reach – features unique to
the Teletruk.
Moving heavy loads around
can be a hazardous affair but with
a number of safety functions
incorporated, the 30-19E mitigates
against many of these concerns.
Full, 360° vision around the
machine for the operator, aided
by the 111° of carriage rotation,
are integral to the ease and safety
achieved when performing material
handling tasks.
In addition, the JCB-patented Load
Motion Control already available on
other vehicles in the OEM’s lineup is
“THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT
THE CAB IS ITS EASE OF ENTRY”
