There is no doubt the Channel is changing. We have seen an unprecedented period of
uncertainty for the economy over the last few years and partners have had to move beyond
their transactional roots to try and retain their trusted relationship with their customers.
From a supplier perspective I am seeing a greater willingness to
innovate to help empower partners. From marketplaces, digital initiatives,
new products and services, to new business models and everything inbetween,
the whole community is trying to adapt to a new world.
As we enter the transition period before we o cially separate from
the EU, partners will be weighing up the potential risks to their
business. For many partners, the initial challenges are not obvious.
For example, if you are a UK-based business buying or selling
into Europe you will need to plan for potential changes to VAT.
e reverse charge of VAT may no longer be applicable, so you
may need to start paying or charging VAT from businesses
that you deal with in Europe.
Having attended several international events where I meet
partners from afar it has become clear to me that UK partners
are ahead of pack in many ways, especially when looking at some
European counterparts. e speed of adaptation, transitioning to
managed services and adopting newer technologies, the UK has
retained a certain edge to it.
However, to ensure your business is getting the most out of the
market and the community who sell through Channel you must
be on top of the evolution happening in front of you. at is
what this supplement is all about. is is a chance to introduce
yourself to new companies and products or reacquaint yourself
with those you already know but are providing something
di erent.
