The EC950F crawler excavator

Equipment is – and we are sure
Volvo won’t mind us saying so
– a beast. Weighing in at over 90
metric tons, with a maximum digging
reach of over 12m and a reach height
of 6m, it now outranks the EC750 as
the company’s largest excavator.
Already making its mark in
Europe and equipped with the very
latest Stage V engine, the machine
will get its US launch at ConExpo in
Las Vegas this March.
“The 750 is very well accepted by
contractors but what we’ve been
hearing from customers is that they
need the next step up to properly
load the Volvo A45G articulated
hauler,” says Ray Gallant, vice
president of sales support for Volvo
CE. “So we are very happy to
welcome the EC950F here in
North America.”
The 950 could be viewed as the
perfect combination of power and
stability, enabling it to handle a high
capacity in the toughest applications.
“It can manage large buckets and
large production requirements,” says
