BOTHELL, WASHINGTON
Greenpoint Technologies moved its
headquarters to a site around 10 miles north
of its previous facility. The 36,000ft2
(3,344.5m2) site houses the design,
engineering, programme management,
operations, certification and sales
departments, plus a design centre.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS
GDC Technics completed a head-of-state
BBJ 777 with a cabin that came in 1,000 lbs
(454kg) below estimates. It features a lower
lobe crew rest and three custom showers
with on-demand hot water heaters. Bespoke
elements include 3D-printed decorative light
fixtures, certified decorative lamps and
sconces, and side-facing TTL seats.
Equipment includes a security system,
various cameras, dual L-band and satcom
system, Ka-band antenna, Iridium system
and satellite TV antenna providing live 4K TV.
The company also gained STC approval to
install a media server and three cabin
wireless access points on its demonstration
aircraft; and dispatched a team to Mumbai,
India, to manage the removal and

EAST ALTON, ILLINOIS
West Star Aviation made many of its STCs
(covering a wide range of airframes) available
to third-party installation centres.
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA
Comlux Completion signed its fourth
ACJ320neo completion – this time with DC
Aviation Group. The aircraft will fly to Comlux
following its green delivery in November
2019, for installation of an interior designed
by Callies Gräfe Design.
CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE
West Star Aviation held two open house
events to support the recruitment of roles
including quality inspectors, avionics
technicians, painters and A & P technicians.
BRISTOL, UK
GDC Technics opened its second UK office,
to support modification, refurbishment and
reconfiguration projects for MROs, leasing
companies and airlines.
THE NETHERLANDS
GKN Fokker marked the centenary of the
Fokker brand, which was established
on 21 July 1919.
GENEVA AND LUGANO,
SWITZERLAND
Ruag sold the Swiss portion of its MRO sites
to Dassault Aviation. The deal covers support
services on Dassault, Piaggio, Pilatus and
other aircraft types, plus 87 employees.
Ruag continues with full aircraft services
at Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, for
Bombardier, Embraer and Gulfstream aircraft.
BASEL, SWITZERLAND
AMAC Aerospace signed contracts that will
see an MD-87 arrive in September 2019 for
a major modification, and the installation
of FANS and an Iridium satcom system
on a BBJ 737 in November 2019.
The company also completed many
maintenance projects this quarter. Of those
aircraft, an ACJ319 and a G550 required some
interior modifications, while an ACJ318
underwent a minor cabin refurbishment.
AMAC also supported several AOG and
ADS-B Out installation requests.
BASEL, SWITZERLAND
Grischa Schmidt is the new head of Jet
Aviation’s Design Studio, managing a team
of 16. Schmidt rejoined Jet Aviation in 2017
as senior project manager/interior designer.
RIED IM INNKREIS, AUSTRIA
Bombardier has chosen FACC to make the
radomes for its Challenger and Global aircraft,
under a life-of-programme contract.
JINAN, SHANGHAI AND
BEIJING, CHINA
STAECO will take over the distribution of
FACC’s aftermarket services in China,
including the refurbishment of business jets.
XIAMEN, CHINA
HAECO PJS added airframe maintenance
to its offering for UAE-registered aircraft.
