ARAMIS SYSTEM FOR
OPTICAL 3D TESTING
Using the ARAMIS systems, full-field and
point-based analyses of specimens of just a
few millimeters up to structural components
of several meters in size are carried out. The
customizable system ARAMIS Adjustable
is suitable for a wide range of measuring
tasks because of their variable measuring
volumes and distances. ARAMIS SRX is a
high-resolution and high-speed 3D camera
system that is capable of capturing up to
2000 images per second, which is ideal for
high-end applications.

wings, fuselages and components.
Reference points are placed on each measurement area
of interest. The stereo pair of cameras images the target,
measuring its three-dimensional position in real time.
These high-speed cameras provide hundreds or thousands
of images per second.
The result is the real-time 3D displacement response of
every reference point in the field of view. The waveforms
shown are the 3D deformation response of three reference
points on various components. The data set is enough for
the display of vibration frequency responses in any vector
or the maximum displacements. Thanks to the noncontact
video data acquisition, the influence on the
measuring object is very low.
Advanced manufacturers, like Boeing, Airbus and GE
Aviation use the technology every day, but smaller
companies without the complex design and testing
infrastructure even more. Using optical measuring
technology in the quality area ensures lean manufacturing.
GOM’s ARAMIS system helps completely understand
materials’ behavior and gather data more efficiently and
completely, allowing for more educated assessments and
resulting in more complete solutions to the typical issues
that occur in the manufacturing area and for computer
model iteration and validation. \\

GOM systems support the aerospace industry and its
suppliers by providing precise part geometries and
material characteristics. This data is used as input
parameters for fi nite element simulations and fl ow
analyses, for verifi cation of simulations against real
measurements as well as for reverse engineering.
