 he green completion industry,
 with its ever-changing outlook,
can be tough to crack. “Smaller
aircraft sales are steadier, but with a
 growing number of completion centres
competing for the same programmes, it
can be hard to sustain a profitable
business,” says Ron Soret, vice president
and general manager at Aeria Luxury
Interiors. “Finding a niche in the
customisation of business jets has been
 pivotal to our success.”
He also credits the centre’s eager and
deeply talented staff – and this is where
being located in Texas’s Alamo city has
paid dividends. “San Antonio has a rich
history in VIP completions, and the talent
pool that goes with that,” says Soret.
“The experience of our staff – coupled
 with parent company ST Engineering’s
 resources and capabilities in aviation
 engineering, refurbishment and
modification – has enabled Aeria to build
a strong track record in VIP completions.”
 STRONG START
The company signed its first contract a
 year into its induction – a nose-to-tail
 green completion, which was immediately
followed by a custom BBJ 777. “This was
nearly unheard of for a new outfitter, and
 equally as incredible, the organisation
 redelivered the programme successfully,
 with great ease,” says Soret.
Aeria attributes its appeal to its
 commitment to excellence and ability
to meet targets – crucial to which is an
awareness of the intricacies that can
 emerge during custom programmes.
“Our vast experience gives us a critical
 understanding of the creativity, focus,
 performance and complexity required
 for each programme,” says Soret.
While Aeria is perhaps best known for
 its completion capabilities, the company
 has multiple maintenance programmes

 and after delivery. Offering maintenance
 services has allowed the completion
 centre to forge long-standing client
 relationships and has benefitted its
 refurbishment business. “Customers who
are pleased with our maintenance work
 have elected to add refurbishment
upgrades with us,” says Soret. “As a
 result, minor or mid-level refurbishment
 programmes, originally scheduled as part
of a maintenance visit, gain traction to
 become full cabin refurbishments.”
 With its formula of maintenance,
 refurbishment and completion services,
Aeria believes its potential for growth is
strong. “We plan to continue our focus
as an integrated solutions provider for
private jets with a strong emphasis on
VIP completions, while continuing to grow
 our maintenance capabilities,” says Soret.
“We also want to build a backlog of
 refurbishment programmes, to continue
our upward trajectory to become an
 industry leader.”
 booked well into 2019. “Maintenance
 requests have picked up considerable
speed in the past year, which fits nicely
with our positioning as an integrated
 solutions provider offering completions
and maintenance under one roof,” says
 Soret. “Simultaneously, we have carried
out work on four narrow-body aircraft,
which allowed our technicians to exercise
 their abilities in tackling multiple
 programmes concurrently.”
 Keeping pace with technological
 advancements has become increasingly
important. To satisfy the demand for
 reliable inflight connectivity, Aeria offers
 various satcom solutions. Ka-band
 antenna installations have been
 particularly popular.
 “The system provides internet speeds
similar to those in a home or office and
 allows passengers to enjoy video
 streaming, phone calls, music/movie
 downloads, access to private company
networks and much more, through one
 global network with significantly fewer
signal drops crossing large bodies of
 water,” says Soret.
The organisation prides itself on the
quality of its customer relations, before
 Aeria has
 performed various
 maintenance checks
 for more than 46
 Boeing aircraft since
 the company was
 established in
