MAHLE
An international auto-parts
maker based in Stuttgart, Mahle
celebrate its 100th anniversary
in 2020. It claims half of all
automobiles produced worldwide
contain Mahle components with
its systems solutions in every kind
of vehicle, from e-scooters and
machinery to commercial vehicles
and passenger cars. The company
produces high-efficiency drive
systems and power electronics for
electric powertrains. Its products
include traction inverters, onboard
chargers, EMC (electromagnetic
compatibility) battery filters, DCto
DC isolated voltage converters,
fuel-cell monitors, motor and heater
controllers, and electronics for
diesel systems. The company has
even developed its own concept
car, Mahle Efficient Electric
Transport (MEET), a 48-volt vehicle
for urban mobility.
LECLANCHÉ
Headquartered in Switzerland,
Leclanché is a leading provider
of high-quality energy storage
solutions. The company is at
the heart of the electrification
of marine, rail, and commercial
vehicles. At EVT, Leclanché will
present products for more efficient
electric transportation as well as
solutions for enhanced battery
safety. Leclanché’s history and
heritage is rooted in over 100 years
of battery and energy storage
innovation. Its own European
cell-manufacturing capabilities
and module-and-pack assembly
combine German engineering and
Swiss precision and quality. The
company takes pride in being a
total energy system solutions
provider, capable of delivering
fully self-contained energy storage
systems suitable for all transport
sector applications.
VALEO
Valeo provides smart thermal
management for electrified
vehicles. The company designs
cooling solutions to make the most
of a car battery’s performance
while maintaining passenger
comfort via dynamic control of the
car’s air-conditioning system. Valeo
also improves vehicle performance
with aerodynamic solutions such
active grille shutters at the front
end to reduce drag coefficient by
9%, plus light structural solutions
such as composite battery casings
(with no compromise on mechanical
resistance) that offer up to 30%
weight reduction. At the expo,
Valeo will demonstrate battery
cooling systems, an optimized
heat pump system that can extend
an electric vehicle’s range by up
to 30% in winter, and composite
battery casings with integrated
battery coolers.
Voices of the industry
EXPO PREVIEW
One of EVT’s biggest attractions is its
educational conference, which features
keynote speakers from top OEMs,
pre-conference workshops, and six full tracks
of education covering topics crucial to every
stage of the advanced battery supply chain. “It’s
a very solid baseline on what’s next in terms of
technology implementations around EV,”
comments Andrea Dolfi , global technology
manager for engine fl uids and motorsport at
Petronas Lubricants Italy.
Sessions including Latest Developments in
Electric Motor Design, Electrifi cation of the
Off -Road Vehicle Market, and The Future of
Electric Vehicles in a Rapidly Changing
Industry uncover the newest breakthroughs.
“What is good about this conference is you
have a lot of experts – technical experts, not
the experts in LinkedIn and handshaking, but
really those guys who have the core
knowledge,” says Marcin Seredynski, head of
research and innovation at Volvo’s e-bus
competence center.
