NEW CHASSIS GROUNDING SYSTEM OFFERS CABLE-TO-CABLE COMPACT DESIGN,
TAKING THE USUAL 18 SEPARATE CONTACT POINTS TO JUST ONE LUG
Chassis grounding is a widely used method in
the heavy equipment market. It is used to create
a common electrical pathway between different circuits
and ground electronic device machines used in the
agriculture and construction industries, for example.
Typically, each device that is grounded is connected
to the chassis by a separate cable lug. Depending on the
vehicle and the number of connections, this consumes
a lot of time for installation. Besides that, the number
of cable lugs that can be attached to the chassis may
be limited in some cases. As a solution to all of this,
Amphenol has created a brand new connection system
 called the Hyperbuss ATV.
The ATV Series is an 18 pole connection system that
was designed based on the proven reliability of the AT
Series Heavy Duty Plastic Connectors. The system offers
cable-to-cable connection as an in-line or flange mount
design, and the 18 pole ‘bussed’ receptacle is brand new.
The Hyperbuss ATV receptacle is a plug and play
solution designed to substitute all the single cable lug
connections. Its unique and very compact design takes
18 separate contact points to only one lug that is
 screwed on the chassis.
Other applications of the system include using the
Hyperbuss ATV to distribute power from a battery to
various electronic devices. The durable thermoplastic
housing features built-in contact sealing to eliminate the
need for individual wire-sealing grommets. An integral
interfacial seal protects the mated connectors.
 A growing heavy-duty portfolio
The ATV Series and the Hyperbuss ATV receptacle
are not the only new products in the steadily growing
portfolio of Amphenol’s interconnect solutions for
 heavy-duty applications.
With its new technologies representing the smart
farming market, there is more and more need for
different kinds of electronic devices like controls and
displays. Convenient connection systems are needed
to build reliable products that can fulfill
 the high requirements of the
 agriculture industry.
 Following this

trend, Amphenol has established a portfolio of
wire-to-board solutions that can be directly mounted
to a PCB of any electronic device. Options include
receptacles with or without a flange for embedded
designs and easy integration into existing enclosures.
For applications where multiple connector interfaces
are needed, the flangeless BoardLock connectors are an
ideal solution. Key features are the compact design and
a quick and reliable assembly. The connectors can be
placed on a PCB inside an enclosure, which is then filled
up with potting compound. By doing this, the system is
perfectly sealed against the environment and the
connector is fully integrated inside the enclosure.
The AT and ATM Sealed Flange PCB receptacles are
very simple to integrate into any existing housing. The
receptacle only needs to be assembled in a standard
panel cutout and attached with screws. The sealed
flange ensures water tightness and protection against
 the environment.
The BoardLock flanged and flangeless connectors
are available in straight and 90° with two to 13 contacts.
 Cost-efficient alternative
Amphenol’s Armor IPX Clear Enclosure Boxes for
electronic devices are designed to be used with the
BoardLock Series. These enclosures are available in
standard sizes – with and without vent holes – that
are common in the market and offered in three different
housing materials. The clear box offers complete
transparency and insights into the electronic device. It
is a cost efficient alternative to existing semitransparent
housings that are currently available in the market.
Amphenol offers this unique solution as an addition to
the standard transparent amber and black enclosures.
The standard interfaces are available with 12 or 2 x
12 contacts and up to four different coding options.
Customized solutions of the header with different
contact arrangements or even a different connector
style are available on request. The blank plate is a perfect
option for easy customization with different interfaces
and offers full flexibility in use.

portfolio of high power EV connectors that can handle
up to 500A and 1000V. iVT
