CREATING A FLEXIBLE AND CUSTOMIZABLE HYDRAULICS
COMPONENTS SYSTEM ALLOWS FOR MULTIPLE
APPLICATIONS BY A VARIETY OF CLIENTS
Faster is a global leader in the production of
hydraulic components. With more than 65 years
of experience in the hydraulic industry, the company
has designed and manufactured over 500 million
quick-release couplings and has registered more
than 80 patents.
Faster is further accelerating its growth through
an intense program of new product launches and
new applications characterized by innovative technical
solutions. Last year, the company – together with Sun
Hydraulics and Enovation Controls – became part of the
Helios Technologies group, a publicly traded company
that develops and manufactures hydraulic and
electronic control solutions for diverse markets. In June,
Helios Technologies introduced its new NASDAQ ticker
HLIO with a big event during which Wolfgang Dangel,
CEO of the corporation, did the famous ritual of ringing
the Wall Street Bell.
Product line
Faster’s product portfolio comprises three product areas
including quick-release hydraulic couplings, tailor-made
casting solutions and MultiFaster components.
Patented in 1994, the MultiFaster has become a
trademark in the business and in the past 25 years it has
evolved so much so that the range now includes more
than 50 different products. These products are used in
various fields of application including agriculture,
construction equipment, special vehicles and industrial
applications. The system is comprises of two plates, a
lever, several hydraulic couplings and eventually
electrical connectors. The multiple lines are connected
in one single manoeuvre.
In 2017, Faster launched the PSA06 MultiFaster,
introducing the single-line connection functionality.
PSA06 fixed part is interchangeable with PSA06 mobile
part or with single male couplings according to
ISO16028, 3/8” size (dash 06) and can reach 25MPa of
max working pressure. Another peculiarity of this
MultiFaster is the presence of colored switches on the fix
plate, useful to identify the different lines but – most
importantly – allowing the disconnection of the single
lines with a simple click.
The same mechanism is now being implemented in
the PC206. This brand new compact MultiFaster has 2
lines size 3/8” and allows the connection with mobile
plate or stand-alone counterpart couplings. Just like

PSA06, dedicated push buttons – one in yellow and
one in green – make the disconnection of stand-alone
counterpart couplings. With the working temperatures
that go from -25C to 100C, PC206 is an ideal solution
for both agriculture and construction equipment
attachments.
An unconventional relaunch
In addition, at the beginning of this year, Faster
decided to relaunch the MultiFaster on the
market in an unconventional way through a product
configurator, thanks to which customers can build
their own MultiFaster to meet their specific needs.
The MultiFaster configurator is software embedded
in the fastercouplings.com website that allows the
customer to virtually assemble their own product and
customize it according to their needs. The configuration
starts with the selection of some key technical
parameters like maximum flow rate,
number of hydraulic/electrical lines, and fixed
or mobile plate half.
Afterwards, the customer can select among different
plates configurations, shapes of the lever, coupling sizes,
types of threads and, eventually, different kinds of
electrical connectors.
At the end of the configuration, customers will see
a 3D model and can save their configured version. They
can also download a detailed technical datasheet with
the configuration recap.
