stores and evaluates vehicle data,
sending it via mobile networks so
customers can stay in the know
about their eets from the comfort
of their homes or wherever they
happen to be at the time.
“We can provide parameters on
machine precision, fuel levels,
vehicle speed and working time,
error codes and the position of the
tractor,” says Florian Langenbuch,
Fendt’s smart farming technology
specialist. “It is really interesting,
particularly for contractors with
di erent vehicles out in the eld and
want to know where they are or
what work they are doing as it is all
available in real time.”
Extensive CANbus data from the
tractor can also be disseminated
and, with the consent of the
customer, the dealer can also have
access to the information to make
sure the vehicle is fully serviced and
in proper working order.
Telemetry services primarily are
the bene t for individuals outside of
the machine but Fendt hasn’t
forgotten about the operators. In the
cab, as an option for the rst time is
an infotainment system that
includes a high-end, hands-free
speaking system with eight intercommunicating
microphones
integrated into the sunroof. Having
a built-in DAB and analog radio, as
well as Bluetooth, USB and auxiliary
inputs the four speakers and
subwoofer can blast out the
soundtrack of the operator’s choice
as he goes about his daily tasks.

Series rst appeared at Agritechnica,
Fendt has reason to be con dent the
942 will be a front runner for the
overall TOTY prize. Although if it
doesn’t scoop the top gong, Fendt
also has nominations in the Best
Utility category (for the 314 Vario
Pro +) and in the Sustainable
