 DRIVETRAIN GOES ELECTRIC
Carraro’s roots are in agricultural machinery. The
company, founded in 1932 by Giovanni Carraro, fi rst
made agricultural seeders, before moving into tractor
production in the 1950s. Today, the company also
specializes in drivetrains, but maintains a unique
 understanding of the complete vehicle.
Leveraging the 25 years of experience in
development and supply of integrated drive
systems Carraro recently extended its portfolio to
hybrid electric machines and electric powertrain. The
company can now offer the design of the whole system,
combining its traditional mechanical competence to the
know-how in sizing and selection of the most suitable
 electric modules.
Carraro continues to evolve its product offering, with
an example including a complete range of 4WD steering
axles from 40 to 400hp with or without suspension
supported by the AG Transaxles range. This spans from
the basic confi gurations for low power tractors to the
fully automated units for mid-high power premium
tractors. All Carraro front suspension modules are with
 semi-active suspension function, electronically
controlled by its proprietary ECU and fully
 interchangeable with the non-suspended axles.
Agritechnica 2019 will be the ideal place to show
many examples of this know-how. Carraro booth
visitors will have the opportunity to see both complete
tractors such as Carraro Compact, fi nalist at Tractor of
the Year competition, and state-of-the-art powertrain
like a mild hybrid solution for speciality tractors.
